Terms and conditions

Last updated: 23 September 2026.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the Lang Horizon site and the support the agency offers to applicants planning to study abroad. Submitting an application or requesting support means accepting these terms.

2. Definitions

  • The agency: Lang Horizon, whose details appear in the legal notice.
  • The applicant: anyone who submits an application or requests support, together with their legal guardian where they are under 18.
  • The institution: the university, school or language centre the application is submitted to.
  • The support: the services set out in article 3.

3. What the support covers

  • A first conversation, free and without obligation, to frame the project, the budget and the schedule.
  • A selection of programmes matching the applicant’s profile, among the institutions the agency works with.
  • Assembling and checking the university documents in the file, then sending them to the chosen institution.
  • Guidance and support on the visa file: the list of expected documents, a review of the file and follow-up through to submission.
  • Guidance and support on accommodation: the options available locally and follow-up on the booking.
  • A contact you can reach while preparing the departure and after arriving.

4. What the support does not cover

The agency is an intermediary. It does not stand in for the institution, the consular authorities or any financial body. In particular, the support does not include:

  • any guarantee of admission: that decision rests with the institution alone;
  • any guarantee that a visa will be granted: that decision rests with the consular authorities alone;
  • payment of the tuition fees, which are settled directly with the institution;
  • taking out insurance, buying travel tickets or making a firm housing booking on the applicant’s behalf;
  • opening a bank account or a foreign-currency account, nor any guarantee that one will be opened.

5. Payment of tuition fees

Tuition and course fees are paid directly to the school or the university. Lang Horizon does not collect those amounts on the institution’s behalf and takes no commission on what the applicant pays it. The payment details are supplied by the chosen institution.

6. Support fees

The first conversation is free. The terms of the support, what it covers and what it costs are given to the applicant in writing before they commit to anything. Nothing is owed until the applicant has accepted those terms in writing.

7. The applicant’s obligations

  • Provide accurate, complete and current information, and report any change of situation without delay.
  • Send the requested documents within the stated deadlines, since admission and visa calendars cannot be stretched.
  • Hold the proof of funds the destination requires: a foreign-currency account, a bank account in their own name, or the guarantor’s or parents’ bank account, depending on their situation.
  • Hold an Edahabia card where one is required for the visa appointment with Capago.
  • Carry out in person the steps that fall to them, in particular filing the visa application and attending consular appointments.

Where the applicant does not have these yet, the agency guides them through the corresponding steps, which is not a guarantee that they will be obtained.

8. Applicants under 18

An applicant under eighteen can only apply with the agreement of their legal guardian, whose details are required. The legal guardian receives the information about the file and signs the commitments made on the applicant’s behalf.

9. Cancellation, postponement and refunds

The terms for cancelling, postponing and refunding tuition fees are the institution’s. They are given to the applicant in writing before any commitment. An applicant who wants to stop their project tells the agency without delay, so that the file can be put on hold with the institution.

10. Visa refusal

If a visa is refused, the agency reviews the grounds with the applicant, prepares a new submission where that is possible, and looks at postponing the intake with the institution. Any refund of amounts already paid to the institution is governed by that institution’s terms.

11. Liability

The agency owes a duty of best efforts. It cannot be held liable for a refusal of admission or of a visa, for a change of fees, dates or conditions by the institution, or for inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the applicant.

12. Personal data

How the data supplied by the applicant is handled is set out in our privacy policy.

13. Changes to these terms

The agency may change these terms. The version that applies is the one in force on the date the application was submitted, and the date of the last update appears at the top of this page.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Algerian law. In the event of a disagreement the parties first seek an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Algiers.
